How it works

Phase 1 — WEEK 1 · CAPSTONE DEFINED

Capstone defined

You bring 3 project ideas. Together you test each against the Three Capstone Tests: can it be done with your current resources, does it stretch you creatively, and will it be portfolio-worthy? One idea becomes your project for the semester.

Phase 2 — WEEKS 2–6 · EARLY BUILDS

Early builds

Bi-weekly sessions focused on the evolving series. Each session ends with a clear assignment targeting one specific aspect of the project. You shoot; Kevin reviews before you return.

Phase 3 — WEEK 7 · THE DIP

The dip

You've made 20+ images. Some don't feel like the project anymore. That's normal — it means your eye is sharpening. Kevin helps you see what's working and let go of what isn't.

Phase 4 — WEEKS 8–12 · THE GRIND

The grind

The series is taking shape. Critique shifts from skill-building to project integrity: does every image earn its place? Sessions get deeper as the body of work coheres.

Phase 5 — WEEK 13 · PRE-REVIEW

Pre-review

You submit a draft final 10 images plus your artist statement. Kevin reviews. Together you confirm the final selection before the closing session.

Phase 6 — WEEK 14 · FINAL PROJECT REVIEW

Final project review

You walk Kevin through your final 10 images. Kevin presents the written Final Review document. Together you discuss what this work says about where you are — and what comes next.

$100 deposit holds your spot

The $100 deposit is non-refundable and applied toward your total. Balance due before Week 1, or split into two installments.

Refund policy

  • Weeks 1–2: Full refund minus deposit
  • Weeks 3–7: 50% refund of remaining balance
  • Week 8 and beyond: No refund
The project is yours. Kevin's job is to help you test it, refine it, and execute it — not to pick it for you. Arrive at Week 1 with at least 3 ideas ready to discuss.

Kevin Boller is a commercial and luxury product photographer with work published in 30+ Glamour magazines worldwide and displayed in galleries across three countries. He is a Director on the Board of the Florida Professional Photographers (FPP), Director of the Florida School of Photography (2025 & 2026), and an instructor at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center. He has led sports photography workshops at Florida SouthWestern State College. Before photography, Kevin spent 19 years as a Data Scientist at Comcast — which gives him an unusually systematic approach to creative growth.
